amazing septum piercing

A few of my friends came to dunedin for a few days and one of them decided to get her septum pierced. I thought "oh cool.." and really thought nothing of it. My parents are dead against any form of piercing. Even ear piercing! So i never really thought about it. i've always wanted a facial piercing but always thought about the fact that i cant hide it! Anyway.

When she came out with her new piercing I was shocked at how amazing it looked. What I loved even more about it was that she put a circular barbell in and she flipped it up and it was basically impossible to see until she flipped it back down.

so that was it. I was sold! The week after I went to Invercargill to see my boyfriend and decided to get my septum pierced there. I talked to my friend and she gave me a couple of piercers to go to. I decided to go to large as life with my boyfriend, as I felt more comfortable with a girl doing my first piercing.

I walked in and the piercer behind the counter greeted me. I was a little nervous and kind of stuttered that I would like to get my septum pierced. The piercer was really pleasant and gave me a few options of the kind of rings i wanted. I chose a 14 gauge circular barbell. she said that it's better if i start off with a bigger ring.

After deciding what to have put through my nose, she took me into a little side room and told me to lie down as she set up. She was really easy to talk to which made me allot less nervous. My boyfriend patiently waited in the store.

First off she put on a sterile glove and felt around my nose for the place she was going to pierce. It felt kind of funny to have someone else put their fingers up your nose! "you pick your friends, You pick your nose, But you don't pick your friends nose!"

Secondly she grabbed a marker and marked the place where the needle will go through. It felt like it was going to be in the right place.

Then she told me that she was going to clamp my septum and that I should feel a tight pinch and it should hurt a little. I felt the tight pinch, but it didn't really hurt that much.

Then she told me to take a big deep breath in then breath out. I did so, and as I exhaled, I felt a prick then a sliding feeling. I shut my eyes tight to save my eyes from running. I was surprised at how little pain i felt. I waited and waited for an excruciating pain that I had read about on blogs and whatnot piercing studs, but it never came.

The piercer seemed surprised at how relaxed I was and how little bleeding there was. When she put the ring through and I finally could sit up and look in the mirror, I fell in love with my nose! (sounds kind of strange...) The piercing looked so great! My boyfriend thought so too. I was so happy. But I figured that I would suit a smaller one much better, so to be safe I got a 16 gauge along with a care sheet and some goopy stuff I was supposed to put on my nose. (which I didn't even use)

I found that I had to take the balls off the circular barbell to flip up the 14 to hide it from the parents, which was fine.
The healing process was crazy fast. The only problem with the healing was that if i knocked my nose or touched it, my nose would hurt a little, which isn't even a big deal. And I would wake up with scabs around the piercing in the morning. I bet it looked pretty awkward trying to pick them out (A.K.A I looked like i was digging for gold!)

A week later I decided to change from 14 gauge to 16. I struggled to get the 16 through after taking the 14 out as it was my first time ever putting a new ring through. It bled a tiny bit and was fine after that. it looks so much better than the 14, in my opinion, plus I can flip the 16 up easy as cake with the balls on and everything. I don't think I will go back to a 14.

2 and a half weeks later, my parents are still none the wiser about my septum piercing and I love showing it off to all my friends! It definitely is a unique and sexy piercing to have. myitthings shopstyle iliketotallyloveit

As with quite a few of the mods I now have or want, I used to hate septum piercings. I just really didn't like the look of them, but I found them starting to grow on me. To start with I just started liking the look of them on other people, but didn't think it would suit me and still thought I'd never get it done. However, after a while the idea started to really appeal to me and I thought it would actually look pretty good. Unfortunately my boyfriend at the time really hates septum piercings, especially on girls, so I just didn't really think about getting it done seriously. There were other piercings I wanted first and I just didn't want the hassle! A while after we split up the idea really started to come back and I decided I was definitely going to get it. I was a bit worried about what my family would say, I thought I would probably get the whole "You look like a bull" comments and I really couldn't be bothered with that.

I decided that I would get this piercing done at a piercing meet I was going to, but on the day I felt pretty ill so I decided getting pierced wasn't the best plan. I was disappointed but also a bit relieved because I was really scared about it! After the meet I was then a bit annoyed at myself for being such a wimp so I decided that as soon as I was home from university I would get it done.

So me and a friend decided on a day once I was back and off we headed to Luton. We went for some food first in Subway, and then we did the shopping we needed to so that my food could settle before I went to get pierced. Once we were finished we headed to Adrenaline and I told the guy behind the counter I wanted my septum done. I filled out a form then was called into the piercing room. I was feeling pretty nervous now! Firstly we decided on which jewellery to use. We decided on 1.2mm rather than 1.6mm because I have a very small face and both thought this size would suit me better. An 8mm diameter circular barbell (CBB) was chosen and the piercer opened it up quite a bit for me so I could flip it up if I wanted to. Once this was done we were ready to begin.

I lay down on the table and she had a good feel of my nose to locate my sweet spot, the thin bit of skin they pierce through, as they don't do it through the cartilage. Apparently mine is quite high up. She then clamped my septum which was a bit uncomfortable but it didn't hurt like I've heard some people say it does. And then for the piercing! It hurt a bit but not too bad, my nostril was worse. It made my eyes water quite a lot though belly button rings, but luckily I was expecting that and had worn waterproof mascara! Putting the jewellery through hurt quite a bit, I often find it does. I then sat up for her to put the ball on the CBB, but she tried a couple of times and dropped the ball, so she asked the other piercer to come and do it because she is apparently notorious for not being able to get the balls on hehe. That made my eyes water a little bit more because it tugged a bit but finally it was done. I then started to feel a little bit dizzy so I had a lie down again for a few minutes u ntil it passed. I then paid and left and ate a chocolate bar to get my blood sugar level back up. It was still quite a good piercing experience, the piercer was nice and talked me through what she was doing, and said she felt bad because she knows it hurts!

I am very happy with how this piercing looks, I am in love with it! For the first few days it would really sting if I accidently moved my nose too much and make my eyes water a little, but that soon passed. For quite a few weeks after I had it done the tip and underneath of my septum was still quite sensitive if I touched or knocked it but other than that it did great. I'd say it was my best healing piercing, which I've heard quite a lot of people say about theirs. Perhaps it is partly due to being in a place which is not too easy to knock about a lot. For after care I cleaned it twice a day with sea salt solution as I usually do. For quite a few weeks I couldn't flip the jewellery up into my nose to hide it as it hurt and made my eyes water as it didn't move around very easily, but after a few weeks it can be flipped up and completely un noticeable unless someone is looking up your nose!

I was eleven, when I wanted my first piercing. A normal twelve year old kid, that longed for a needle to pierce through my nose. I'd always just laugh and shake my head when my family would say, "Yeah, go on and listen to that devil music, but we don't want to see you with bones in your nose." Then I would smile. If only they knew.

I'd been fascinated since I was even younger with body modification. While all my friends all wanted their right ears pierced or the girls, their bellybuttons, I wanted a shiny ring dangling from my nose. It wasn't until my twelfth birthday was approaching when I finally brought it up with my mother. I was no rebel, just well average, I liked what I liked, and was content that way, so when I asked her if I could get a piercing it was a no. Absolutely not. I just smiled and accepted it. I could've begged, and gotten angry. I could've said, "It's my body." And all the other teen cliches but as far as I was concerned, she gave me a roof, so I'd give her my respect. See? I was so average.

During that year, I went on with my life, body mod-free. I remember sitting in front of the mirror, imagining a needle going through my nose, putting dots on it. Laughable things. I started to obsess, I wanted it. I was tired of the way I looked. I felt so plain, so boring.

We'd go through the tattoo shops, my mother's boyfriend's occupation, and I'd have to sit and be envious of the people walking in, especially the ones with more than one facial piercing. I started to dwell. Why couldn't I?

Then I started to casually bring it up. Can I? No. Can I? No. She wasn't against piercing, but she claimed that it would cause problems at school, which it inevitably did. Finally the day before my thirteenth birthday, she agreed. Never mind that she was pretty drunk. Mission accomplished. She'd said it, taking it back now would only cause issues.

A while later she took me to a shop, rejection was all I faced. Too young. Another. Same thing. I was pretty upset. I was almost a teenager. What difference did it make? I'd been promised what I'd longed for, so I was set on making it come true. So a day before my birthday, I took out the alcohol and a safety pin. I was going DIY.

I sat in front of my mirror, a strategically placed marker dot on my nose, after swiping the surface and inside with some alcohol, then sat and stared for a long time. Unsure, of who I'd become. Unsure of who I was. Would this be me? I picked up the needle, sterilized in the alcohol for about an hour, and began to push in. I remember no pain at first just sweating, and pinching. I pressed harder and harder, until I felt the first layer of cartridge crack, a pop sound, echoing in my head. I started to feel the pain, I pushed harder. I was doing my best to not get carried away and wind up with a septum job too, so I pointed the needle down. It must've been about fifteen minutes when I finally heard that nasty pop again. The needle went through. I was so happy. Finally. Now, I looked down at the ring, I'd bought a while back, in high hopes. How did I get that in. If only my gauge knowledge now, could be given to me then. A safety pin hole...is tiny. My ring was maybe a 16, gre at. With force and more cracking, another loud pop in my brain. It went in. My first words..."I look cool." Of course, I did. Just kidding, I had a headache for about an hour after hand, but I felt like it was so worth it. I was so young, it's only now I realize a nose piercing isn't as impressive.

I walked out of the bathroom with pride in my strut. "You did it?" I nodded. "By yourself?" I nodded again. "You're an idiot."

It took about a year, for that first piercing to heal. I underwent many infections and the money that's been spent on nose rings for me probably has hit over a thousand, and that's more than a gentle estimate. But, it's still my pride and joy. I had so many people ask me, "Where'd you get it done?" To which I'd reply the truth, I did it myself. Sure I was swelling with pride then, but only now do I realize they probably think I was and am crazy, or a masochist of some sorts.

Only now, 6 piercings, 3 tattoos, and 00 gauges do I realize that my first piercing is probably by far the most common and least patronized body mod, for me to have been so excited about, but still we all start somewhere.

It was my opening to a new world. Yeah, I get judged for them, but metal face isn't who I am, it's just a part, one of my favorite parts though. Nothing could ever replace the years I spent, that led me to body mod. The struggles I faced with them, but it was always worth it. To this day, my nose piercing remains, ring intact. You couldn't pay me enough to close it up.

First of all I would like let you in on a little secret.My septum didnt realy bleed at all.I just thought that was a nifty title.

First things first I had my septum done a little under a year ago.and I have since streched it to a 10 gauge. i have to say the streching is my favorite part.I plane on going down to a 2 or something like that.

As a boy growing up in a fairly strict house I was never allowed to have any piercings or even grow my hair long.Being the rebel that I am as soon as i moved out a 16 I got my first piercing it was my labret.

Ive never felt anything like it.It was a total rush kind of like an orgasam but not as intense. After that I was off nothing could stop me I was on a mission to get as many holes in my body as possible.

Although ive never had any trouble with migrating or anything of that nature my bridge just got pierced like two months ago and I think I might be developing a keloid.Well anyway back to the main story.I had been seriously considering my septum for about a month before I worked up the nut to go do it.

I had just got out of my weekly N.A. meeting and had about a half hour before my ride was going to be there. So i thought I would go check out the nearest tatoo shop down the street it was called the vibes.I had heard realy good things about the tatoo artists but not so much about the piercing.

So at first I was sceptacle but I am always open minded so I thought I would at least go in and talk to the people inside.So in I went through the front door and up the stairs.The first person I talked to was the piercer himself.

I asked how much for a septum? he said forty bucks I looked at him with disapointment in my eyes and said man i only have 30 and that was all it took. he was going to do it for thirty bucks. sudden waves of relief came over me and i was ready.he then said all i need you to do is sign the release papers or whatever they were.

And photo copy my I.D. by this time I looked over and my ride had found me. It must have been the constint talk about it on the ride to brunswick.Alot of people say that the clamps are the worst that may be true for some but not for me not for my septum.The needle was the worst part for sure.

The guy said take a deep breath in and there it was the sweetest feeling ive ever felt my septum was by far the best yet.But I have not had my penis pierced yet either!People say that is the best.

the person who was with me said I had some tears but that is normal for septums.After that was over I sat there and talked to the piercer for a while about aftercare and such.But since i had already had so many I knew how my body was going to heal.Everyone is different so take advise when you can get it but there is no advise like experience.

So for all you out there that are thinking about the septum as your next mod I say go for it and trust your self. If the shop feels right stick with it. you will be shocked at how much a good shop and good people help the hole process.A little piercing humor there. so bye for now and keep on piercing its good for the soul.

Well first off yes it did hurt it hurt like a bastard they stuck a 14 gauge needle through my nose I mean come on people how stupid can you be? Second I chose to do this to my face because I feel that my body is a canvase and I should be allowed to express myself any way I see fit. and third and most of all you can get retainers so it does not even look like you have a it in.

so do not let those close minded people tell you what to think and how to act and everything should be ok.just keep in mind that opinions are like butt holes everyone has one and some people have two.

20 years of waiting and finally a tongue piercing

ok well i had pierced my bellybutton before but my girl friend sarah threatened to rip it out so i had to remove it. so i talked her into lettin me do it again as long as i pierced hers also she said yes so i talked to zeph and got a piercing needle from him and then later that week i did it again in sarahs room at first i tried to have her do it but it hurt way too bad and i moved so it came out crooked so i had her take out the needle and i waited a hour and numbed it compleatly then i used her intial starting hole and went from there and got it about half way through cuz my skin was bein stuborn and i had to numb it again. after i numbed it i started to push again and then her dad came into the room so i had to sit there on the side of her bed so he couldnt see what i was doin under my shirt well any way i got it to come through where i wanted it and after the needle was in i left it there till he left then i showed sarah and she was suprised i got it in and that it was straight so i slid in the bar and put on the ball and that was that. healing has been ok. then a few days later i did sarahs and that went ok too lol but thats a different story for a different time.
